Welcome to Yarmouth Links

Friday May 15, 2020 - 9:20pm Update

Upon conclusion of the Club’s emergency virtual meeting this evening, we are very pleased to announce the re-opening of golf at the Yarmouth Links beginning Sunday, May 17th at 8 am. Management and others involved at the Club intend to work very diligently tomorrow to ensure the Club is prepared for the re-opening.

Significant points of interest:

- From Sunday, May 17th to end of day Sunday, May 24th, the golf course will only be open to members in good standing from 2019 or new members paid in full for 2020. We will open the golf course to non-members beginning Monday, May 25th.
- Our 2020 price listing is updated and located HERE . We have reduced our base membership prices by 5% from their originally intended prices for the year.
- Memberships and other packages can be purchased tomorrow from 10 am to 4 pm by calling the pro shop at 902-742-2161. Credit card payments will be taken over the telephone.
- We strongly encourage you to pay your membership in full prior to playing your first round of golf.
- Tee times will be spaced 12 minutes apart. You must call the pro shop to book your tee times in advance of playing. Without a pre-scheduled tee time you will not be permitted to go on the course.
- We intend to move to an online tee time booking system very soon. While not a forced move due to COVID-19, we feel this is in the best interest of the Club and will also assist with social distancing measures within the limited space in our pro shop. In the interim please call the pro shop to book a tee time.
- The Nova Scotia Golf Association (NSGA) has provided social distancing guidelines and protocols as they specifically relate to golf, located HERE
- Tournaments/competitions are not permitted by the Province at this time. We expect changing and eased restrictions as we continue throughout the year so we will keep our membership up to date on our 2020 tournament schedule as things progress.

The Club still has some unanswered questions as far as how things will play out for the 2020 golf season. This was unexpected at the end of 2019 but we are hopeful that everyone stays patient with us. We know that we may not be able to provide the social experience that you would have previously had at the Club in prior years. But we are hopeful that the game of golf will provide a lot of enjoyment for you and others, particularly after the past two months of social distancing and the winter months away from golf. Please come out and support the Club, bring friends, introduce new people to the game, and let’s make this a successful 2020 golf season.

Tucked into the southwest corner of the Province, this charming links-style layout offers a panoramic view of the local lighthouse and ocean. At first glance, the openness of the course leads one to believe that low scores are the norm. However, the rolling fairways, small lightning fast greens and unpredictable ocean breezes all combine to provide a true challenge for any golfer.

This club was established in the early 1800's and operated as a nine hole course until the mid 1990's when the new nine was opened for play in 1995. Yarmouth is one of the Province's oldest courses. While playing Yarmouth course you will be treated to great views of the Atlantic Ocean. The course is fairly wide open but the small greens will make up for this as accurate approach shots will be required.
